How to Make Scented Christmas Tree Ornaments
Hang some scented ornaments on your Christmas tree, and the warm smell of apples and cinnamon will permeate the room and make your house feel like Christmas. Make it a family project, and everybody will be in the Christmas spirit. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp. cloves
- Medium mixing bowl
- 2 tbsp. white craft glue
- 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- Plastic wrap
- Rolling pin
- Cookie cutters
- Plastic straw
- Wire rack
- Ribbon, yarn or raffia

Combine the ground cinnamon with the ground nutmeg and ground cloves in a mixing bowl. Stir in white craft glue and the unweetened applesauce.

Mix the dough with your hands until the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated and the dough is smooth.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator to firm up for at least 30 minutes.

Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on your working surface and on a rolling pin and roll the dough until it's 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into desired shapes with cookies cutters.

Make a hole through the top of each scented ornament with a plastic straw.

Place the scented ornaments on a wire rack and let them air dry for several days.

String the dry ornaments with ribbon, yarn or raffia and hang them on the Christmas tree.

Tips & Warnings
Don't make the scented ornaments thinner than 1/4 inch or they will be too thin and brittle, and will break easily.
