How to Make an Ice Cream Spoon Christmas Tree

Get a few simple craft materials together and transform some simple wooden ice cream spoons into a clever Christmas tree ornament. You can enjoy some delicious ice cream and save the wooden spoons, or you can purchase brand new spoons at a craft store.

Things You'll Need

• 5 wooden craft spoons
• Green spray paint
• Glitter
• Hot glue gun and glue
• Gold craft foam
• Scissors or utility knife
• Multi-colored construction paper and/or craft foam
• Small piece of ribbon

Instructions

1. Lay five wooden ice cream spoons on your work surface and spray them lightly with green spray paint.

2. Sprinkle some glitter on the wet paint and allow the spoons to dry thoroughly before proceeding.

3. Stack the wooden spoons in a pile, and fan out the bottoms, with the tops of the spoons still together. Glue the spoons in this configuration with the hot glue gun.

4. Cut a star shape out of gold craft foam with a pair of scissors or a utility knife and glue it to the top of your spoon Christmas tree with the hot glue gun.

5. Cut shapes out of construction paper or colored craft foam to make ornaments for your tree, and glue them on with the hot glue gun.

6. Create a hanger by gluing a small piece of ribbon to the back of the Christmas tree.
