How to Make a Healing Foot Soak
After a long hard day on your feet, there is nothing quite as relaxing as a healing foot soak. The wonderful aromas and natural ingredients in your homemade foot bath are sure to be a favorite. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups sea salts
- Bowl
- 30 drops lavender essential oil
- 2 (400 IU) vitamin E capsules
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 tbsp. dried lavender
- 1 tbsp. dried peppermint
- Glass jar with tight fitting lid
- Small tub
Instructions

1
Measure 2 cups of sea salts into a bowl and add about 30 drops of lavender essential oil to the salts, dropping the liquid in slowly and stirring thoroughly.
-
2
Add the contents of 2 (400 IU) vitamin E capsules to the mix. The vitamin E not only boosts the healing qualities of your foot soak, it is also a natural preservative that will help hold the aromas as well as the beneficial properties of your quality ingredients.

3
Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1 tbsp. of dried lavender and 1 tbsp. of dried peppermint to the mix. Again, add the mix slowly while stirring constantly to help prevent the baking soda and herbs from clumping up in the oils on the sea salts.
-
4
Transfer your foot soak into a glass jar with a tight fitting lid. Because your foot soak is made from natural ingredients, using a dark glass jar will help to prolong the shelf life by a month or two. However, a clear glass jar is fine if your soak is stored in a cool, dark place and used within about 2 months.
-
5
Prepare your natural healing foot soak by heating 1 gallon of water to a comfortable temperature and pouring the water into a small tub. Add 2 tbsp. of your foot soak mixture and place your feet into the water. Soak your feet for at least 20 minutes and then pat your feet dry.
