How to Use Free Trend Micro TrendSecure

TrendSecure, from computer security software manufacturers Trend Micro, is a suite of PC security applications that address home and mobile PC security issues. The suite is free and addresses security issues such as online transactions, spyware and remote file lock for lost or stolen laptops.

1. Navigate to the Trend Micro TrendSecure website. Download and install the free suite of security tools.
2. Enable the TrendSecure Transaction Guard to protect the sensitive information you use in online transactions, such as passwords, user IDs and account numbers. Click on the Transaction Guard icon in the system and select "Enable" to run the program in the system's background. While you're online, the program monitors the computer for spyware and kills any invaders it finds.
3. Right-click the TrendSecure icon to bring up the options pop-up menu. Select "Password Clipboard" to enable the on-screen secret keyboard. Use the mouse to enter your personal ID in "Field 1" of the Password clipboard and then move the cursor to "Field 2" and retype your ID. Go to the website that requires your ID and click inside the ID entry field, press "F9" to bring up the Transaction Guard Password clipboard and paste your ID from the Password clipboard. This function makes it impossible for your sensitive information to be hacked or stolen.
4. Lock personal laptop files remotely via the Internet with the "Remote File Lock" function. Access "Remote File Lock" on the TrendSecure website to report a laptop lost or stolen. Enter the laptop's Remote File Lock email address and password to lock the personal files on the computer. Your files remain locked and secure until you report the notebook as found.
