How to Use Trend Micro HouseCall Free Virus Scan
Keeping your computer free of viruses, spyware, malware or other security threats is a necessity. Trend Micro HouseCall is an application that checks your computer for infections and then fixes the problem. It is easy to use and is completely free.

Access the Trend Micro HouseCall site (see Resources) and read the system components requirements.

Click on the red "Scan Now. It's Free!" icon. Choose "Continue With Free Scan" on the next page. Read and accept the "Terms of Use" and then select "Launch HouseCall."

Wait for the compatibility check to finish and then click on "Starting HouseCall." Run the application.

Check the left of the screen to see where you are at in the scanning process. The steps are listed as they become active.

Choose to "Scan complete computer for malware, grayware and other vulnerabilities." Wait for Trend Micro House call to list detected infections, if there are any (this may take some time). Look at the "About" and "Encyclopedia" sections while you are waiting.

Follow the recommended guidelines for removing any problems on your computer; if threats are found, Trend Micro will provide an explanation of the problem and how to remove it.

Scan your computer with the Trend Micro HouseCall on a regular basis, or at least once a week.
