Wiring money is a faster and safer way to send money. You can wire money online, by phone or by visiting a location that offers a money wiring service. By wiring money domestically rather than through the mail, you have the peace of mind that the money got there safely.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Visit the Western Union website. To wire money online, all you need is a Visa or MasterCard credit card or debit card. You have the option of wiring money to a Western Union location or a bank. Alternatively, you can wire money by phone or at one of Western Union's branch locations.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the iKobo website to wire up to $1,000 for a nominal fee. Complete the online form to wire money domestically using a Visa or MasterCard credit card or debit card.

  3. Step 3

    Visit your local bank or credit union. You most likely need to be a customer. Bring your driver's license, bank card and routing number for the destination bank. Banks usually charge a flat fee for wiring money, regardless of the amount being transferred.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember, if you transfer money from a bank or credit union, the person receiving the money will need the bank name and the nine digit routing number in order to receive the money.
