1. Purchase a swimming pool test kit that includes a test for PH level and an acid demand test.

2. Perform a pH level test on your swimming pool water. Note the color of the PH level test and save the test water.

3. Use your acid demand test kit to perform the acid demand test on your swimming pool water.

4. Fill up the test tube with the package directions for how much swimming pool water to add. Drop in the reagent into the test water, one drop at a time.

5. Notice when the acid demand test water is the same color as the pH level test water.

6. Count how many drops it took to change the acid demand test water to equal the color of the pH level water.

7. Follow the package directions on your acid demand test kit to decide how many drops equals how much muriatic acid to add to your swimming pool water.
