Many people dream of opening a beauty salon. If you want to open your own environmentally friendly 'green' beauty salon, then you will want to consider several issues. While you will be saving the environment with your business, it might be hard to get 'green' products and services into your new salon. Take these tips in consideration as you open your green beauty salon.

  1. Step 1

    Buy mineral make up. It is natural and not experimented on animals. You can purchase this type of make-up from a wholesaler or even in the drugstores around your town or city.

    Use recycled paper in your salon. For administrative work, make sure you buy recycled paper for your printer. You can also buy recycled ink for your printer so you don't affect the environment.

  3. Step 3

    Use environmentally products like Smelleze which takes away the odor that comes from the nail polish. The odor that comes from nail polish harms the environment. See if you can find less toxic version of nail polishes and other manicure items.

    Buy hair and skin products that are kind to the environment and green. You can find many beauty and spa products out there that can be used such as seaweed and natural herbal remedies, facial muds and masks.

    Think about adding natural hair removal services like sugaring or threading. You can also use henna for temporary hair coloring or to make temporary tattoos. You may need learn and perfect these beauty techniques before you try them out.

    Use natural herbs like peppermint and eucalyptus for showers and facial steaming. These herbs are actually more effective and kinder to the skin than harmful environmentally dangerous products that have chemicals.
