How to Donate Clothing for Pediatric Treatments

Charitable donation come in all forms. Some people choose to donate their money and others their time. However, there are still more ways to help out nonprofit organizations. By donating your clothing you can help pediatric treatment centers raise much needed money to deliver their services.

Instructions

    • 1

Look up the contact information for the pediatric treatment center to which you would like to donate clothes. If they have a number to dial for donations, call it first. If there is no number, call the general information line and ask the receptionist to direct you to the proper employee to speak with about donations.

    • 2

Consult the pediatric treatment center to see if they accept donations of clothes. Depending on the organization's manpower and focus they may or may not accept clothing donations. If they do, speak with this person and get all the information needed to donate.

    • 3

Ask if them if there are any non-profit organizations that do accept clothing and give proceeds to the center. In some cases there are partner organizations that run consignment and thrift stores as side forms of income. These can help get money to the organization you have chosen.

    • 4

Collect all the clothing you are planning to donate in one place. Divide the clothes up in order to reduce work for the organization, thus saving manpower and money. This can be as easy as separating summer and winter, men, women and children's clothing and organizing by sizes. Place them each in labled, plastic bags.

    • 5

Deliver the clothes you have organized to the drop-off point specified by the pediatric treatment center. Some organizations will take the donations at their main offices, while others have specific locations set aside for receiving and sorting donations.
