Instructions

    • 1

Start Adobe Fireworks CS3 and open an existing document from your files that contains an animation to which you want to add frame timing.

    • 2

Display the Frames palette (if necessary) by choosing "Frames" from the Window menu.

    • 3

Locate the frame delay column in the Fireworks Frames palette. The frame delay column is the column just to the right of the frame name. You may see a number here that indicates a frame delay.

    • 4

Double-click on top of the frame delay column for the frame you want to set frame timing. A textbox will appear below the frame that lets you indicate the frame timing.

    • 5

Enter a number into the frame delay textbox. This number indicates the fraction of a second you want to delay this frame within the animation.

    • 6

Press the "Enter" on your keyboard to enter the amount. You will notice that the number you entered will now appear in the frame delay column beside the frame that you indicated.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to set the same frame timing to more than one of your frames, you can hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard and click to select multiple frames. Double-click on just one of the frame delay columns of the selected frames to change the frame timing for all selected frames.
