When the worst thing happens, we tend to get through it. It's the tension and anxiety worrying about the worst thing that could happen that seems to cause the most stress. While we can prepare for the worst thing in our lives, we never really are totally prepared. So read on for some tips of how to face the worst if it comes to you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Turn to your faith. When times are darkest, you should feel comfortable turning to your religion or spiritual beliefs for comfort and support. If you don't have any kind of belief in a higher power or God, then perhaps you may want to imagine what one would be like and develop that thought, so when it seems there is nowhere to turn, you will have your faith.
Step2
Call on your friends and family. Even if you haven't seen your family of origin in a while, when the worst happens, that's when families rally together. Let them help. Find out who your true friends are during this time too.
Step3
Try to find some kind of good in the situation. Even if it looks like the end of the road, look for deeper meaning or another road that veers off in another direction. You can always see another side to every situation.
Step4
Look for someone else in need. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own failures and disappointments that we just wallow and make them look worse then they are. When we are helping someone else, our problems always get put in a clearer perspective and we benefit from helping out other people.
