Cricket is one of the most loved sports or recreational activities in the UK and other European nations. It's catching on here in the US as well. There are many moves, like in other sports, that are important to the outcome of the game. The inswinger is one of those moves and you need to learn how to execute it well.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Shine the ball. Unless the ball is a new one and is shiny already, it's important to shine the ball on one side before and during each delivery. The condition of the ball, combined with the skill of the bowler and the weather, can determine the success of the inswinger.
Step2
Place your thumb on the seam underneath the ball and grip the ball with your first two fingers close together on the top seam. The seam must be in the vertical position. If you're left-handed, use whichever hand you're most comfortable with, but take the time to reposition yourself for the best bowl.
Step3
Angle the shiny side of the ball away from the batsman. The seam should angle towards the leg while you still keep the seam vertical. This sounds difficult, but once you've held the ball correctly, it will be easy to place each time.
Step4
Gauge the wind and position of the batsman before you release the ball. A cloudy or overcast day has more moisture in the air and can cause the ball to curve, so you'll also need to compensate for this.
