Things You'll Need:
- Lacrosse stick
- Tub or bucket
- Hair conditioner or fabric softener
- Lacrosse ball and pencil
-
Step 1
String your lacrosse stick head. The stringing pattern may differ depending on the materials you are using and the position that you play. Remember to string the leathers so that they are loose, since tight leathers make a deep pocket almost impossible to achieve.
-
Step 2
Condition your mesh by giving your lacrosse stick head a warm bath in a tub or bucket of hot water. Use hair conditioner or fabric softener and massage the strings, then leave the head to soak for about half an hour or longer.
-
Step 3
Use your fist to push the mesh into a pocket shape where you want the pocket to be located. Wiggle your fist around to put pressure on the mesh and make the pocket deeper.
-
Step 4
Wedge a lacrosse ball into the pocket using a pencil and leave it there over night. Check it out the next day and take it out to play to see if your pocket is finished. If it doesn't feel right yet, repeat the Steps 1 to 3 and leave a lacrosse ball in the pocket for another night.
