order Magazines cheaply

Reading magazines can be an expensive hobby, but what I have learned in the ten years I have been reading this is how to order them as cheaply as possible.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Awareness
  1. Step 1

Do your research. There are many sites/offers that you can order from. Make sure you pick the cheapest one. Take the time and do the math. Even $1 per magazine will save you a lot each year.

  2. Step 2

Be aware of gimmicks. I have been a subscriber for 10 years and I have never received a "Free Gift" from any magazine for ordering. I am not saying that people have no received these gifts, but I haven't. Also, there is the possibility of ordering magazine A and getting magazine B with it for free. This offer I actually received. They tried to bill me for Magazine B, but I sent the bill back and wrote "Subscribed free with subscription to Magazine A." So it can work for you, but you just have to make sure you are paying attention to the money you are spitting out.

  3. Step 3

If you are already a subscriber magazines will try to send you "renewals" as early as six months before your subscription expires. Throw them out. You DO NOT need to renew anytime before three months. Three months will assure you that you do not miss an issue. The first renewal offer is never the cheapest. Remember that!

  4. Step 4

Pay online. Some magazines will be postage paid, but some are not. Thanks to the modern day we are in you can now pay online. Paying online will save you a stamp. 49 cents a magazine we are saving, adds up just like the dollars do.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do not read most of the issues of a certain magazine there is no reason to subscribe to it. If you read less than half a years issues then it would save you money to just buy the issues you want on the newsstand.
