No matter how old you are, or what shape your life and brain are in right now - there are things that you can do that will help you physically to increase memory, brian function and have a greater capacity and tendency towards joy in your life.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a brain
  • a will
  • a few moments
  • a smile
  1. Step 1

    SMILE!

    Smiling triggers a specific nuerochemical process in your brain.
    Over time habitual smiling 'paves' the nueropathways that make you more inclined to be happy and to expereince happiness more readily.

    In short - it increases your capacity for joy.

  2. Step 2

    Write down 5 things you are grateful for every day, in the morning if you can.

    This operates on the same principal.

    Some studies have been done that suggest that gratefulness can actually outdo zoloft as an antidepressent.

    It also may well boost your immune system.

  3. Step 3

    Laugh - no matter what your situation you are in - look for something to laugh at.

    Seek out funny jokes and stories on the internet.

    Surround yourself with people who crack you up.

  4. Step 4

    Juggling!

    Scientific research has shown that juggling increases the communication to the left and right sides of your brain.

    It makes you smarter.

    THis has been proven to be so effective that you can actually get grants to go in to schools and teach juggling, because it makes kids test scores rise.

  5. Step 5

    Play the drums. I use my kids rock band drum set.

    Learning anything iincreases your brain flexibility and mental capacity, and drums work similarly to juggling. And its fun!

    This also helps increase your ability to focus, and that helps in so many other areas of your life and work that you wish to accomplish!

  6. Step 6

    Every day wake up and say:

    "Every Day in every way I am getting better and better"

    A scientist in the 1800's did an experiment and found amazing results.

    More recently researchers have followed up, and confirmed that this does indeed make practicing subjects smarter and happier.

    I like to think it works because it consciously and willfully opens yourself up to all the wonderful things that are possible in you through God.
