How to make an awesome pair of shorts out of an old pair of jeans

Have you ever purchased a pair of perfectly fitting jeans, just to have them shrink to a length that makes them just a little too short to wear? Instead of writing them off, turn them into an awesome pair of excellent fitting shorts!!

Things You'll Need

• Old pair of great fitting jeans you can no longer wear because they are too short.
• Scissors
• Ruler
• Sewing machine or local dry cleaners.

Instructions

1. Grab an old pair of excellent fitting jeans that shrunk in length so you can no longer wear them without feeling like a complete nerd.

2. Grab a pair of shorts you own that are a lentgth you love. Lay the jeans out on your bed, and lay the shorts over them, lining up the bottom of the crotch.

3. Using the ruler and a pen, pencil or marker, draw a line on the shorts 1 1/2 inches below the shorts. Using the scissors, cut along the line.

4. If you have a sewing machine, fold the bottom of the cut jeans 1 1/2 inches and run them through your sewing machine.

5. More likely, if you are reading this article, you do not have a sewing machine. In this case, simply take the cut jeans to you regular dry cleaners, and ask them to hem the garment 1 1/2 inches above the cut.

6. I promise, this will become one of your favorite pairs of shorts!!!

Tips & Warnings

• If the jeans don't fit well to begin with, donate them and take the maximum write off.

• Even if you do have a sewing machine, if you don't love sewing, take them to the cleaners. It's pretty cheap to get a hem done.
