I am going to help you get more sleep by not having to ever change out the baby's bed in the middle of the night!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Crib Mattress Pad
  • 3 Crib-size Sheet Protectors
  • 4 jersey (stretch-y) crib sheets
  • 1 Sleepy Baby
  1. Step 1

Start with nothing in the crib but the mattress. No bumper pads, nothing.

  2. Step 2

Put the mattress pad on the mattress.

  3. Step 3

Put a sheet over the mattress pad.

  4. Step 4

Layer a mattress-sized sheet protector on top of sheet.

  5. Step 5

    Place another sheet over protector.

Continue to layer protectors over each sheet. I layered enough for 4 changes.

  7. Step 7

    Replace bumper pads.

  8. Step 8

    Place baby in crib.

  9. Step 9

If spit-ups or diaper leaks happen in the middle of the night (and they will) simply remove, clean-up and comfort baby. Pull off top sheet and protector. Replace hopefully sleepy baby. This should make it possible to go at least 2 days without changing out the whole crib!

Tips & Warnings
  • I used Carter's sheet protectors. I am not sure if they still make them, but Ikea has a very nice one that can be cut to size. Mine lasted through 3 kids and 1 grandchild. They are still in good shape. The jersey sheet helps to keep the baby from getting too hot.
  • You will need them when the toddler starts sleeping in 'big-kid' underwear!
  • Always make sure the sheet is securely on the bed.
  • Never put a baby directly on the protector. It may be too hot, and if the protector is not secured under the mattress, the baby may cover it's face with it.
  • Always follow manufacturer's labels regarding washing and care.
