Find Ghosts in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan is as beautiful as any other part of Canada and as full of ghosts as well! The Native American history, tuberculosis infection and general scandal and mayhem make Saskatchewan an exciting adventure for ghost hunters everywhere. Natural beauty and paranormal phenomenon make this a perfect vacation destination, so grab your EMF (electric magnetic force) meter and let’s go!

Instructions

    • 1

Start your adventure outside the abandoned mines in Estevan. Locals claim to see Assiniboian Indians, Fur traders and spectral miners all outside this location and doing some EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) work could result in some interesting evidence!

    • 2

Take a tour of the Echo Valley Conference Center, the site of the old Fort San. Ghost hunters here claim this to be the hottest ghost spot in Saskatchewan! A former tuberculosis hospital, this location was the last stop for many afflicted with the disease decades ago. Talk to the staff to hear personal paranormal experiences.

    • 3

Stop at the Fort Qu’Appelle or the Fort San Sanitarium. Another tuberculosis hospital, this location leaves visitors feeling choked and out of breath. Visitors also claim to see the apparition of a nurse roaming the building as well as hear the sounds of squeaky wheelchairs rolling down the hall. Spooky!

Check out the old stone farmhouse in Indian Head. You’ll see it standing alone off the Trans Canada Highway. The story goes that the family living there lost a child when he wandered onto the nearby train tracks. The husband closed the windows facing the tracks with stones, but the wife’s spirit still roams this area in grief over her lost child. Auditory phenomenon has been reported here as well, so do some EVP work.

Have a drink at the Moosehead Inn at Kenose Lake (see Resources below). Staff here report hearing footsteps in the empty bar and unexplainable door slamming. Talk to staff to hear personal stories and rent one of the rooms at the Inn for some experiences of your own!

    • 6

Visit the Kenosee Inn while you’re out at Kenose Lake. This inn also reports poltergeist activities such as moving chairs and glasses.

    • 7

Go back to church in Kipling. Legend has it that Beckavar Church is haunted and that when the bell in the tower starts ringing you should run to get out. Visitors report getting “locked” in the church and experience cold spots and weird otherworldly odors.

    • 8

Get cultured at the Prince Albert Arts Museum in Prince Albert. Locals report seeing people and lights through the building's windows during off hours and staff can’t explain it. Talk to the staff to hear more unexplained events.

    • 9

Try your luck at the Casino Regina in Regina. Gamblers here tell of disembodied voices, cold spots and other unexplained occurrences here.

    • 10

Have some java at Magellan’s Coffee House in Regina. Staff here report electrical phenomenon and auditory occurrences. Take a tour of the old house to do some ghost busting of your own. Take lots of pictures!

    • 11

See ghost lights at the Old Cemetery in Watson. Locals claim that the soul of a murder victim buried in this cemetery is to blame for the blue phantom lights many see at dark. Talk to the locals to hear more about the legend and to get directions.
