It is fun and economical to gather items from your local dollar store to assemble a terrific gift basket for a housewarming or wedding shower! Here are some of my suggestions, but you can use your imagination to add other interesting items.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Items from the dollar store, such as:
  • A large basket or deep tray
  • 4 wine glasses
  • 4 cloth napkins
  • 4 bamboo or straw placemats
  • a corkscrew
  • 4 small appetizer sized plates
  • an interesting cookbook
  • an attractive candle
  • ribbon or raffia
  • silk flowers
  • any other items that go with the theme of your basket or that your recipient would love

Step1
Take the large basket or deep tray and attractively arrange the other items in it.
Step2
Open the cloth napkins and fold diagonally and stuff into the wine glasses, leaving the ends sticking out,
Step3
Roll up placemats and arrange them in the basket.
Step4
Arrange other items, decorate with ribbon or raffia and silk flowers and give as a housewarming or wedding shower gift. They will love it, and you won't have to break your piggy bank!
