Things You'll Need:
- Set of bells for your door. Bells on a string or ribbon, and sleigh bells will work.
-
Step 1
Bells from local store, sleigh bells and Poochie-bellsChoose a string of hanging bells. You’ve seen the strings of bells that are hung on door handles around Christmas time, find a set of these and potty training your puppy will be a breeze. Look for bells that won’t harm the surface of your door as metal straps and snaps can scratch as your pooch gets the hang of this.
-
Step 2
Hang the bells on or next to your door that your puppy or dog will use.
-
Step 3
Every time you take or let your pet outside ring the bells while giving a command like “potty”. The command can be any word you like but remember to keep it simple, and say it as you ring the bells.
-
Step 4
Make sure you pet can see and hear you as you complete step 2.
-
Step 5
Take puppy or dog out.
