Instructions

    • 1

Start with a clean, dry, empty plastic spray bottle. Fill it with two cups of water. If your bottle won't hold at least 2½ cups of liquid, use less water; take note of approximately how much you add.

    • 2

Pour in 1/3 cup of liquid fabric softener. If you used less than two cups of water, create a solution with a 6 to 1 ratio of water to fabric softener.

    • 3

Screw on the spray bottle top, close the nozzle and shake the bottle vigorously to mix the solution.

    • 4

From 6 to 9 inches away, gently mist the static saturated fabrics. Be careful not to soak the fabrics; a little bit of this solution goes a long way.

    • 5

Shake and fluff the fabric. If necessary, mist the trouble spots again. The static electricity should dissipate quickly.

Tips & Warnings

  • A misting of the fabric softener and water solution will even remove static electricity from carpeting.

  • Do not spray the solution on human or pet hair.

  • Do not use the solution on silk, garments marked as dry clean only or other especially delicate garments.
