The company's principal operating strategy is to provide exceptional value to consumers through upscale discount stores and online shopping. Although part-time and full-time positions in the stores are filled locally, any interested and qualified individuals can apply online for the corporate positions in such areas as finance/accounting, strategy, supply chain/logistics, administrative support, human resources and IT.

  • Bachelor's degree or at least two years' experience in a related position
  • Visit some of the stores to get an idea about the retail end of the business.

  • Read business and marketing information about the company and talk with some of the employees to find out if Target offers the right environment for you.

  • Go to the Careers page of Target's corporate website (see Resources) and choose one of the two areas to click for open positions and more information--"Experienced Professional" and "College Student."

  • Click on any of the links on the "Careers" page to go to another page, where you can learn about general positions with Target or search specific jobs with the company.

  • Click on "Search Jobs and Submit Resume" and scroll through the available positions.

  • Create your login and profile, and submit your resume.
