How to Clean Aluminum Pans

You should respect any and all things that bring you food--and that includes your own cookware. And although different types of cookware all have their pros and cons for the effect they have on your dinner, they also demand different styles of care and maintenance.       Scour the pan with baking soda, to remove any traces of food.

      Fill the pan with water, and add 1 tbsp. of lemon juice for every quart of water.

    • 3

      Bring the water to a boil, and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until discoloration fades.

    • 4

      Drain the pan, and rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

    • 5

      Polish the pan by rubbing, gently, in a back and forth motion.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also make your own lemon juice, by mashing up lemon peels in a blender.

  • Never soak your aluminum pans in soapy water, or wash in a dishwasher.
