Dine at Senor Fred on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. Senor Fred is classic, casual Mexican dining with a retro atmosphere (think turn of the century Mexico City). Not only is the atmosphere wonderful, the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The potato empanadas are impeccable, and the tuna tartar is divine. Mexican food lovers will definitely not be disappointed. Also, make sure you check out the excellent dessert options at Senor Fred. The Mexican hot chocolate served up with churros are marvelous and will keep you coming back for more.

Stop by El Coyote Mexican Cafe on Beverly Boulevard. This family-operated (since 1931) Mexican dining establishment is extremely popular with L.A. residents, and has been for decades. Famous for its margaritas, El Coyote has everything you could ever dream of in a Mexican restaurant, all at moderate prices. Be sure to try their "combo" dishes, for the generous portions and amazing blends of flavors. El Coyote is a perfect place to wind down and have an excellent Mexican meal with friends or family.

Go to Tlapazola Grill on Gateway Boulevard. Tlapazola Grill is an extremely unique and wonderful concept--Mexican cuisine with a French twist. This style is reflected in menu items such as the wild mushroom quesadilla (with cabbage and vinaigrette inside) and desserts such as the berry crepe burrito. If you want to try Mexican food that is completely unusual yet also tasty and satisfying, Tlapazola is the place to go. The fine wine selection is extensive as well.
