How to Find Korean Food in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California is a very ethnically diverse and multicultural city. There is a large Korean and Korean American population residing in the city, and as a result there are countless Korean restaurants, supermarkets, and businesses. Here are some of the best ways to satisfy your Korean food cravings while in Los Angeles.

  1. Step 1

    Go to Yong Su San Restaurant on South Vermont Avenue. Yong Su San is a classic, extremely traditional and elegant Korean restaurant. There are locations in Korea as well, so that gives customers an idea of how extremely genuine and authentic the cuisine is. The food available is excellent and fresh so be sure to try the pumpkin soup or the steamed pork.

  2. Step 2

    Dine at Manna Korean Barbecue on West Olympic Boulevard. Korean barbecue is extremely popular in Korea, and has been gaining some momentum stateside over the past two decades or so. Manna offers great quality Korean barbecue for beef lovers. The atmosphere of the restaurant is airy and open, and the menu is perfect for Korean barbecue lovers with everyone from sirloin ribeye to bulgogi (Korean marinated beef).

  3. Step 3

    Visit Sorabol Restaurant on Santa Monica Boulevard. Sorabol has a great selection of everything from Korean style noodles to Korean barbecue. This is a great place to eat if you like restaurants with large menus, as the variety available here is amazing. Try the spicy beef soup or the fish ball noodle soup. The items on the menu are both flavorful and fresh.

    Eat at Woo Lae Oak of Seoul on South Western Avenue. Woo Lae Oak offers customers a majestic Korean dining experience and wonderful food. The Gu Man Du pan fried dumplings (filled with minced meats) are unbelievably tasty, and the selections of Korean noodles and barbecue items are excellent. This is a great and well-rounded Korean dining restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere.

  5. Step 5

    Try Haejangchon Dolgooi Restaurant in Koreatown. This extremely authentic Korean restaurant located in the heart of Koreatown on 6th Street really makes you feel like you're in the middle of some crowded Seoul street on a Saturday afternoon. Though this place is often very busy, the excellent kimchi pancakes and chadol (thinly sliced beef) make it well worth the wait.

  • Koreatown, located in downtown Los Angeles, is brimming with amazing Korean restaurants. Take a walk around Koreatown and see what you find. You are bound to discover some tasty Korean culinary delights.
  • A lot of Korean food is spicy (especially kimchi) so watch out if you are sensitive to "hot" foods.
