How to Upgrade to Outlook 2002

Microsoft Outlook is a software program used for managing personal data. The most popular features in Outlook are email and calendar, which can manage your appointments and events. Outlook 2002 features important changes and improvements over previous versions.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Microsoft Outlook 2002 software
  1. Step 1

    Turn on your computer and make sure you have Outlook installed. To use an upgrade copy of Outlook 2002, you will need to have an older version already installed.

  2. Step 2

    Check to see if your computer meets the requirements for Outlook 2002. You will need 133 MHz processor speed or faster, 135 MB of available hard disk space and Windows 98 or better for Outlook 2002 to work correctly.

  3. Step 3

    Make sure your Windows programs are up to date. Open Internet Explorer and click on "Tool/Windows Update" to download any available updates for Windows. Your computer will likely prompt you to restart after these updates have been installed.

  4. Step 4

    Insert your Outlook 2002 upgrade disc into your CD-ROM drive. Follow the prompts on the screen. The program will automatically remove any old versions of Outlook and install Outlook 2002. You will be prompted to restart your computer when the install if complete.

  5. Step 5

    Open your program folder and make sure Outlook 2002 has been installed.

  • Outlook 2002 is available as a stand-alone software program, but it is also included with Microsoft Office software.
