How to Make a Discarded CD Mobile
Making mobiles from discarded CDs is a great craft project for both children and adults. These mobiles are simple to put together and pleasant to look at when finished. Follow the steps in this article to learn to make a discarded-CD mobile of your own.
Things You'll Need
- Wire hanger
- Three or more discarded CDs
- String or yarn
- Glue or tape
- Wide colored ribbon
- Stickers
- Markers
- Paint
- Paint brushes

Wrap wide colored ribbon around a wire coat hanger. Start at the top on one side and work your way around to the other side, and secure it all with glue or tape. Make sure the entire coat hanger is covered with ribbon, except for the hook at the top.

Cut the string or yarn into different lengths. For example, one piece may be 6", the next 12" and the next 9". Cut one piece of string for each discarded CD you plan on putting on your mobile.

Decorate your discarded CDs any way you like. You can color them with markers or affix stickers to them, or you can even paint your own design on them.

Tape or tie one piece of string to each CD.

Tie the other end of each piece of string or yarn to the bottom of the coat hanger. Arrange the strings in any order you like to vary the lengths of the hanging CDs.
