Raise a Southern Belle Hibiscus

Learn about growing Southern Belle Hibiscus and add beauty to your yard!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plant your Hibiscus in a sunny location and in soil rich in organic materials that also drains well. This will promote the vigorous growth that you want from the plant.

  2. Step 2

If you plant the Hibiscus in shade and less nutrient soil, you will notice less growth and flowering.

  3. Step 3

To get the most flowers out of your Hibiscus, be sure to give them plenty of water. If the plants are newly established, they will require frequent waterings...if the plants are established, the can go for a longer period of time between waterings.

  4. Step 4

If you plan on growing your Southern Belle Hibiscus tall, be sure to plant them in a place that is safe from the occasional high wind...you don't want your plant breaking during a storm!

  5. Step 5

To encourage re-bloom on your hibiscus, be sure to pull off the dead flowers before the seed heads form.
