How to Download USB Drivers for a Sony DSC P200

The Sony DSC P200 is a high-end digital camera. With it, you can take beautiful pictures of great clarity and high resolution. However, the camera won’t do you a whole lot of good if you don’t have the proper drivers for your computer. If you have the Sony DSC P200 but need the drivers, follow these steps to download them.

Instructions

1. Visit the Sony support page. This page will contain the USB drivers for your digital camera.

2. Determine what kind of operating system you are running. If you do not download the correct drivers, they will not work for your camera. If you are not sure what operating system you have, go to the “My Computer” icon in your Start menu, right-click and go to "Properties." The first line should read “System.” Directly below it, you can identify the operating system you are using.

3. Click on the drop menu on the bottom of the Sony support page and select the operating system you are running. This will bring up a list of available drivers for your specific camera. If no results are returned, make sure you have the “Everything” tab selected directly above the drop-down menu. This will bring up a list of all available files.

4. Locate the file you need and click on the "download" link located next to it.

Tips & Warnings

• If you can locate the disk that came with your digital camera, try using that disk for drivers. Usually, Sony cameras are packaged with disks that have the required drivers built onto them. However, if you bought your camera used, chances are you won't have the disk that came with it.
• Make sure you are looking in the correct area for the drivers you need. Check the right side of the Sony support page to determine if the camera model you have matches up with the camera model on the right side of the page.
