1
Avoid extreme temperatures where possible. If you do need to go out in the cold, then do so for as little time as possible. When indoors, avoid drafts.
-
2
Keep extremities covered if you have to go out in the cold. Use thermoplastic insoles and animal wool socks, gloves and hats which are good insulators. Using two pairs of gloves and socks will allow the warm air to get trapped as will roomy shoes.

3
Keep dry where possible. Water removes heat faster than air and so you will be colder if wet.
-
4
Warm up naturally. Avoid heaters and fires to warm your skin when coming in from the cold. Your skin should warm up gradually.
-
5
Visit your doctor if you continue to suffer from chilblains as they may be able to prescribe medication to improve your circualtion.
