1
Identify the window that would most benefit from installing sun and moon shades. A sun shade cuts out the light and is made to stop it from penetrating the window, and a moon shade just reduces the light that can come in. Once you have chosen your window, then go ahead to the next step.

2
Clean the wall around your window where you are doing the installation. Then get everything together next to the window you are working at so that you do not have leave the area during the time that you are installing the shades. Smooth the area where you are going to attach the brackets/stands.

3
Measure and mark where the stands are going to be; they have to be the right distance from each other. Because different brands of shades require different brackets/stands for installation, please read the instructions carefully. Once it is marked, go ahead and install them on the wall. Screw in the stands in place before you install your shades. Make sure the stands are at an angle facing down from the top of the window. Blocking the view with the shades is something you wish to avoid. You still want to be able to look out the window.

4
Get the shades in place, which are as important as the brackets/stands holding the shades in place. The shades would go above the window so that when they are not in use you will be able to have full view and use of the window. The shades roll out of a box and are loaded with springs so they will roll back when released.

5
Screw in the shades, which is a little more difficult as the holes are not open like on the brackets/stands. It can be done with a little time and patience. The brackets/stands you have mounted should be coming down at an angle and not straight so when you pull, your shades they slope down a little to cut out the light.

6
Take your shades out one at a time and put wooden rods in the front. There should be tailored edges to do that. The wooden rods are extended on both sides to rest on the stands when opened. All you have to do to close them is pull a little towards you and release back. Both should be working fine individually.
