If it is hot outside, and a cool, tasty treat sounds good to you, don't you think that would sound good to your dog as well? After all, he probably has a lot more hair than you, and may very well spend much more time outdoors. Don't spend a lot of money on store-bought, gourmet dog treats. Make a special treat at home. If your dog could say thank you, he would.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tsp. peanut butter
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 32 oz. vanilla low fat yogurt
  • Medium bowl
  • Fork
  • Electric mixer
  • Spoon
  • Knife
  • Small disposable cups
  • Cookie sheet or tray
  1. Step 1

Slice banana and place in medium bowl. Mash the banana with a fork.

  2. Step 2

Add the peanut butter and honey to the banana. Using electric mixer, blend at medium speed until all lumps are gone and ingredients are thoroughly blended. Add yogurt and mix again.

  3. Step 3

Spoon the mixture into small, disposable cups or bowls. The cups or bowls need only to be about 3 to 4 oz.

  4. Step 4

Place bowls on cookie sheet or tray. Set the tray in the freezer.

  5. Step 5

Leave bowls in the freezer until the treats are completely frozen. Serve to your grateful pooch. Cover remaining bowls with foil or plastic wrap and leave in the freezer.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can tear a portion of styrofoam cups off to make the right sized bowls.
  • Do not add chocolate flavoring to the treats, as chocolate can be lethal to dogs.
