There are so many changes in what is considered good etiquette in various situations that people aren't quite sure how to act. Proper etiquette is almost nonexistent for many children these days. If you have a lot of knowledge of etiquette, beginning an etiquette business could be a golden opportunity for you right now.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research and refresh your ideas of what is proper etiquette in different situations. Keep in mind the geographical locations where you plan to teach etiquette. What is proper in one area may not be proper in another.

  2. Step 2

Decide if you want to specialize in an area such as business etiquette, wedding etiquette, funeral etiquette or meal etiquette, or if you want to teach general etiquette. Choose an age group you want to work with.

  3. Step 3

Write a business plan. You need to figure out what classes you'll offer, how many students you can reasonably have in a class, how long each class should last, how many classes you'll need to convey the necessary information, how much you should charge, what materials you'll need to provide and where your classes will be held.

  4. Step 4

Choose both short-term and long-term goals that you expect your students and yourself to reach.

  5. Step 5

Find out if you're eligible for small business grants or loans to start your business.
