Things You'll Need:
- Black ink purchased specifically for your HP printer
- Roll of paper towel
- Ink syringe (12ml)
- Empty ink cartridge
- Tape
-
Step 1
Remove the HP black ink cartridge from the HP printer and using paper towel, wipe the cartridge heads lengthwise, not across the heads. Be sure to remove all traces of ink.
-
Step 2
Put a piece of tape on the heads of the cartridge to prevent leaking while you are filling the HP black ink cartridge.
-
Step 3
Peel the sticker on the top of your cartridge uncovering the hole.
-
Step 4
Fill the syringe with ink. Remove the safety cover from your ink syringe. Stick the tip of the syringe into the ink and pull on the plunger until you have 10 ml ink in the syringe.
-
Step 5
Put ink in the cartridge by putting the tip of the needle into the hole in the top of the cartridge. Inject the ink into the cartridge very slowly. Slow down more if ink begins to bubble out of the hole.
-
Step 6
Finish the job. Replace the sticker over the hole, or add a new sticker in necessary. Replace the safety cover on the syringe. Remove the clear tape from the ink cartridge and wipe the cartridge head clean again. Allow the cartridge to sit on a wad of paper towel for about 10 minutes until the leak of ink slows. Put the ink cartridge back into the printer and do a cartridge cleaning cycle and a test print.
