Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Test your skin's reaction to lavender essential oil. While this oil can be applied directly to skin without diluting it, it's wise to test it on your skin prior to widespread application. Individuals may react differently to particular oils. Place a drop of lavender oil on your inner elbow or wrist. Wait 24 hours to see if any unwanted reaction occurs to confirm that you are not allergic to it.

  2. Step 2

Use lavender oil on cuts and scrapes to stop bleeding and promote healing. You can apply a drop of lavender oil directly to the wound, or dilute the lavender oil in olive or almond oil and apply the mixture to the area. Apply the lavender to the wound once to twice daily until the cut or scrape has fully healed.

  3. Step 3

Apply two to three drops of lavender onto a burned area. This will help to disinfect the burn and promote cell regeneration for faster healing. If you have a sunburn, dilute a few drops of lavender oil into rose water, and spray the mixture onto the burned skin.

  4. Step 4

Rub lavender oil onto bruises and burns to reduce pain.

  5. Step 5

Soothe a headache by applying a few drops of lavender oil to your temples and the center of your forehead.

  6. Step 6

Soak a cloth in hot lavender tea and place the warm compress on your chest. This will help to clear chest congestion and improve breathing.

  7. Step 7

Drink lavender tea to calm anxiety and relieve stress. Hot lavender tea can also help to soothe an upset stomach and treat nausea.

  8. Step 8

Fill a tiny pillow with dried lavender leaves and place it near your head when you go to bed. This will promote a good night's sleep and help you fall asleep more quickly.

  9. Step 9

Apply a few drops of lavender oil to the facial skin to promote a clear complexion. You can also put a drop of lavender oil directly onto a blemish to help it heal faster.

Tips & Warnings
  • You do not need to dilute lavender oil as it can be applied directly to the skin.
  • If you wish to dilute it, use olive or almond oil as they react well with lavender oil.
