Soap up and rinse your hands well before you plan on wearing your steel ring. Pay special attention to the finger on which the ring will rest.

3
Paint the inside of the steel ring with clear nail polish. Cover every inch of the metal that will come in contact with your skin. Even with clean hands, the chemicals in your skin can react with the steel and cause it to turn green.

Apply a second coat of nail polish to the inside of the ring. Allow this coat to dry completely before you wear your ring.
