With a few pointers, you'll be on your way sooner, saving you both time and frozen frustration.

Instructions

    • 1

Dress appropriately, with warm, waterproof gloves, winter clothing and high-topped snow boots.

    • 2

Stand on one side of the car. Using a long-handled snow scraper, push the snow on the roof of the car as far to the other side as you can reach. Once the roof is mostly clear, continue pushing the snow on the rear window, trunk, windshield and hood.

    • 3

Walk around to the other side of the car and use the snow scraper to pull the piled-up snow off the car.

    • 4

Use the snow brush to remove any snow that hasn't come off the windshield, hood or headlights. Use an ice chipper to remove any snow that has melted and refrozen into ice on the windshield.

    • 5

Use a snow shovel to remove the snow from around your tires so you can pull out of the parking spot, if your car is truly buried.

Tips & Warnings

  • When pulling the snow brush toward you, stand back so you don't pull snow onto your clothes and shoes.

  • Before you open the car door, brush off any snow that has collected above the door frame to avoid snow falling into your car.

Use a broom to get the snow off the top of your car. But be careful!! I used a broom and i didn't realize how heavy snow can get. I broke my broom! lolol

Point 2: A scraper certainly works; I tend to use a brush, however (depending just how deep the pile is!). Point 4: Kinda funny: this is where I always use the scraper! Point 5: SMART! thank you...

Everybody knows how to brush snow of a car. However, some people are too lazy to completely clear off the windows, headlights, and tail lights. Make sure to do this to see clearly and be seen. It's hard enough to drive in snow.

Wow, I live in Canada and we usually go out in shorts and T-shirts then use steel rakes to take the snow off our cars. I can't wait to tell all my friends.

A broom works just fine, just be sure to not screw up the windshield wipers and any deer horns you might have. Be sure to keep your windshield clean each day, or it will freeze up on you. One can also use a poncho or other ground cloth to cover same when snow is expected, and it will be easy to lift that snow & ice off forehand without all the trouble. Or, if you are tall enough, you can use the male fire hydrant method to either write your name in the snow, or defrost your windshield clear. Us males are good for some things, don't you know?
