How to Choose Medical Scrubs
If you work in any type of doctor’s office, chances are you’re going to have to wear medical scrubs. When you’re lucky enough to be able to choose your own scrubs, instead of the doctor choosing them for you, you want to make sure that you pick the right ones. After all, you’re going to be spending a lot of time in them.

1
Measure yourself to make sure that you are ordering the correct size. Check the sizing chart at the store or on the site that you are ordering from. Sizing varies greatly depending on what company you're buying from and depending on the brand.
-
2
Make a decision on whether you want scrub pants that button or scrub pants that are drawstring. If you are gaining or losing weight, it is better to get the drawstring pants.

3
Choose between a v-neck top or one that has a regular neckline. It all depends on what you are more comfortable wearing. It also depends on the amount of cleavage you would end up showing depending on the cut of the neckline and what is considered acceptable at your place of work. Women that have a larger chest should be careful about choosing a v-neck because some are very revealing.
-
4
Decide where you want your pockets and how many of them you need. If you frequently use your pockets, then the more the better. Some scrub pants come with pockets on the sides, front or in the back and some do not. Some scrub tops have a single pocket on the chest and some have double pockets on the bottom of the shirt.
-
5
Pick between a solid color and a printed scrub. You may choose to get prints if you want something that is related to where you are working. For example, if you work at a dental office you may want to get scrubs featuring smiles and teeth.

6
Think about what you would be more comfortable in: a long-sleeved or a short-sleeved top. If you are constantly cold, then a long-sleeved scrub top may work for you. If you find yourself pushing up your sleeves every time you wear a long-sleeved scrub top, then a short sleeved version would be better for you.
