How to Find New Drivers for the Sony Mavica Digital Camera
The Sony Mavica digital camera was a very innovative device. It was not quite a digital camera but an electronic camera. It used removable disks to store it’s pictures on, which could later be viewed on your TV. Later models used a USB cable to put the pictures on your computer. If you have one of these cameras, you will need drivers to use it on your PC. This article will outline the steps that needs to be taken to obtain new drivers for the Sony Mavica digital camera.

Open the Sony eSupport website. Sony provides drivers and information for a large amount of their products on this web page. The Sony Mavica has been taken out of production, but Sony still offers software support for this product through their website.

Locate the “Drivers & Software” link on the left top side of this page. This will redirect you to the area where you will find the drivers for your camera.

Determine the model number and series type of your Sony Mavica camera. This will usually be on the front or bottom of the camera. The model number will have “MVC” followed by a series of letters and numbers. The series can also be determined from the model number. If the model number has “FD” in it, then it will be an FD-series camera. If the model number has “CD” in it, then it will be a CD-series camera.

Click the drop-down menu and select “Mavica Digital Camera”. This will be located on the right half of the screen under the “Select It” option. After you have selected the Mavica from the drop-down menu, then hit the “Continue” button right underneath it. This will bring you to another screen.

Select the model number of your specific camera. This may be done under the “Model” drop-down menu. After your specific type of camera is selected, click the continue link right underneath the model drop-down menu. This will redirect you to another web page that will have a picture of your Mavica on the top of the page.

Scroll down the page and locate the “Download Files” area of the page. Click the “Everything” tab in this area, and select your operating system from the drop-down menu on this page. This will bring up a list of drivers that are available for download for your Mavica digital camera.

Tips & Warnings
If your Mavica digital camera is one of the first series of cameras, you may not need drivers for it at all. The only Mavica digital cameras that require drivers are the models that use memory sticks to store pictures on.
