No matter which company you choose to work for you will most likely be needing a Headset. Most phones DO NOT have a headset jack. So before you buy one make sure it has one. Headset jacks usually come with business phones, the type you see in offices. RCA usually has nice business phones with a headset jack. Next, You will need a computer with DSL internet and Windows Operating system. Again, Keep in mind that any company you apply for will have their own requirements. So some may want you to have WIndows XP while others may ask for Windows Vista. I know from researching and actually working for a lot of these companies, that most of them still only accept Windows XP. Same thing goes for the type of internet connection, they will let you know what they do and do not accept.

So now you have your business telephone and headset along with your computer that meets the minimum requirements for the company your applying for. Now, you will need to have a space set aside as your workspace. It can be a whole room dedicated for this purpose or just a desk in the corner of your bedroom.

Once you have the basics down now it's time to start applying for those jobs! At the bottom of this article is a list of legitimate companies that you can possibly work for. Remember, working at home sometimes takes patience because the application process can be a lengthy one. Another thing that is required to work at home is discipline. It use to be if you have to pay to work for a company then its a fraud. Well in this case not always. If you have to pay it should be for a background check or something on those grounds. Not for information. So be very careful but keep in mind that there are legitimate work at home companies out there.
