Features that include custom contact and submission forms, with customized fields and text areas.

How to Create and Insert Text Areas to Fields and Forms in Yahoo Sitebuilder

Step1
Create and insert text areas to forms and fields. To insert text areas to fields and forms you will need to select the “Insert” tab on the command bar; a submenu will open. Then select “Forms and Form Elements.” A submenu will open where you can select “Text Area.” Click on this and it will open a text area properties box.
Step2
Set the text area properties. Under the text area properties box you can label the text area by entering text into the “Name” field. Label the field as desired.
Step3
Set the default text areas. You can set the default text that appears in the text area under “Default Text.” You can checkmark whether the text area is a required field by checking or leaving unchecked the “Required Field” checkbox. Set these fields as desired.
Step4
Set Error message if left blank attributes. Under the “Error Message if Left Blank” box you can enter a custom error message. Set as desired or leave blank. If you leave blank there will not be an error message.
Step5
Set desired form settings. In the “Form Settings” tab, you can specify the delivery email address, the confirmation page after form submission and the error page. Browse to the desired pages and set the form settings. Keep in mind that if you do not set an error page the visitor will not be taken to error page upon a website error.
Step6
Use the “Coordinates” tab. This tab will allow you implement precise coordinates for display of the text area in the webpage. Choose any text area options that you desire and then click “Okay” to insert the custom text area into the form. You can also drag and drop the form where desired on the webpage.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can drag and drop the text areas and fields where desired within the forms, just left-click on the fields and drag them where desired.
  • Always check your website for errors after publishing it.
