Most people use dryer sheets for regular everyday laundry needs. In the dryer, they make clothes softer, smell fresher and reducing static cling, but did you know there are many other uses for dryer sheets besides the laundry? Instead of throwing those used dryer sheets away, save them and reuse them for other things.

Things You'll Need:

  • Dryer sheets
  1. Step 1

Take a new or used dryer sheet and place one in your pocket of your regular everyday clothes or work uniform. Many mail carriers put a dryer sheet in their work uniform to keep bees, mosquitoes and yellow jackets away. You can put a dryer sheet in the pocket of you shirt or pants while playing outside or working in the garden to keep the pesky bees and mosquitoes away. Place a dryer sheet wherever you see ants, mice, rats or other unwanted rodents and this should get rid of them quickly.

  2. Step 2

Place a dryer sheet in between photo albums or in between pages in a book to keep the musty odor away. Place a dryer sheet in smelly shoes overnight, a musty suitcase, a closet or drawer in your home, under the seat of your car, in the bottom of your laundry hamper or basket, in the bottom of a kitchen or bathroom wastebasket, and any other place that holds odor. Putting dryer sheets in these areas will keep the odor away.

  3. Step 3

Clean your computer, television, keyboard, and all other electronics with a dryer sheet to get rid of static electricity and to get rid of dust. Dryer sheets also keep the dust from resettling. Wipe any area where there is saw dust or pet hair to eliminate it. You should do this every day or every other day to keep the pet hair and dust away.

  4. Step 4

Run a threaded needle through a dryer sheet before you begin to sew to keep the thread from tangling.

  5. Step 5

Put a dryer sheet in a dirty baking pan overnight, fill it with water. The next day wipe clean with a sponge or dishrag and the baked on grease will come right off. The anti-static agent weakens the bond between the food and the pan. Use this dryer sheet cleaning method on any and all dirty pots, pans, and kettles to get rid of the baked on grease.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use any kind of dryer sheets but some people say that the more expensive ones are the best. However, other people use the cheaper ones and report they work just as well.
  • Do not throw any old dryer sheets away after using them in the dryer. Instead, reuse them to clean everyday things in your home.
