You have stepped out of your marriage for reasons that only you can understand. Nevertheless, you have come to the realization that you still love your spouse. How do you fix your relationship and save your marriage? If you are fortunate enough to have a significant other that wants to forgive you, then don't pass up the opportunity. There are ways to salvage the trust and love you once had in your marriage.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Admit that you were wrong. don't place blame on anyone but yourself no matter what circumstances may have led you to cheat. Only you can be responsible for your actions.
Step2
Seek outside professional counseling. Sometimes damaged marriages need a specialist in the subject to get both parties talking, understanding and forgiving one another.
Step3
Woo your spouse again. Let them know that they truly are the only person you love, want and care about.
Step4
Give the other person space. They may not be ready to accept what has happened. Sometimes staying away until they are ready to talk can be helpful and is very considerate for your wounded mate.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't rush the other person into forgiving you.
  • Don't do things for your spouse just to "get back in good" with them.
  • If you haven't done so already, cut all ties with the other person that you cheated with.
