Step 1
Purchase preplanned curriculum books. These books can be found at area stores that specialize in materials designed for educational purposes. Preplanned curriculum books are filled with ready-made lesson plans for every week of the year, and can be adapted to suit your needs.
-
Step 2
Contact organizations that cater to parents who home school. These organizations always have access to the best resources, and lesson plans for homeschooling.
-
Step 3
Surf the Internet. As a homeschooling parent, the Internet will be one of your most valuable resources. While it can be time consuming, the extra effort is worth finding quality lesson plans for your homeschooler.
-
Step 4
Visit the local library and take advantage some of the resources they have available to the public. The lesson plan books for homeschooling are generally found in the reference section, and you will not be allowed to remove them from the premises of the library. So unless you want to do an enormous amount of writing, it's advisable to take plenty of coins to copy any materials that interest you.
-
Step 5
Ask other homeschooling parents to lend a helping hand. Parents who home school are aware of the challenges associated with putting together lesson plans, so they are always willing to help a fellow homeschooler by allowing access to some of their learning materials.
