How to Get Wireless Internet Almost Free at Starbucks

Wireless Internet seems to be all the rage for computer users. No longer do you need to physically plug your computer into the phone line to get on the Internet, because you can now use a wireless network if your computer has that capability. However, finding commercial businesses that offer this service for free are hard to come by. Luckily, Starbucks offers a paid service, but also an almost free service if you know what to do.

Instructions

1. Visit your local Starbucks coffee shop and turn your laptop on. Make sure that you can access their wireless Internet service. If you open the device manager on your laptop you will can see if you are able to tap into the network. What you are looking for is the T-Mobile and AT&T networks; if they are available then you are good to go.

2. Purchase a gift card at the counter. You do not need to put a whole lot on here; just a few bucks will do. Personally, I put ten dollars on my gift card and got a drink with it. The key here is to activate the card and make sure that you have used it by either putting money on it or using it. If you already have a gift card then you can go ahead and use that one as well.

3. Log in to the T-Mobile network. On the home page you will see the option to register the card. What you need to do is register your card on-line and open an account with AT&T. This is not as hard as it sounds; all they want are basic information like an email address. This is so they can send you promotional sorts of things every few months. Getting an email now and then is worth getting free wireless Internet service.

4. Register the card and make sure that the process is complete. Now here comes the hard part if you want to call it that. You need to get into your email address and confirm your account. What I did was log into my email through my cell phone and confirm it. If you do not have email on your cell phone then you will have to access your email another way and confirm it. The good thing is once you are confirmed you can use their service.

5. Open the T-mobile network and click on the tab at the top that says AT&T user log in. Once you log in to the AT&T site you will be automatically on the Internet. Every day you will be allowed two hours of free wireless Internet use. The only stipulation is that there be some form of activity on the gift card every thirty days, either through adding money or using the card. The reason I say it is almost free is you could actually put a few dollars on it and purchase a drink, but the nice thing is that once you register the card you get a free drink as well. As you can see it is practically free.
