How to Make Paper Rockets

Instructions

      Wrap the tube.Roll a piece of colored paper into a tube. Tape or glue as needed to hold the shape.

      Roll a cone.Cut a piece of paper in half lengthwise. Twist it into a cone. Tape it to hold the shape.

      Trim the cone.Cut the wide bottom as evenly as possible.

      Attach the cone.Put two strips of tape at the top of the tube on the outside to receive the cone. Lay the cone over the top and reach a finger under to press the tape secure.

      Cut some fins.Cut fin shapes from construction paper. Fold a half sheet into quarters and cut four out at once.

      Fold fins.Cut slots on the side that will touch the rocket tube. Fold the slots apart and glue or tape them to the lower tube.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make the fin bottoms level and parallel with the bottom of the tube if you want the rocket to stand. Extend the fins from the bottom for a more artistic flight look, but do not expect the fins to support the rocket for standing.
