Things You'll Need:
- Mesh basket
- Potting mix
- Plants and flowers

Step 1
Use a mesh basket with a liner. Select a basket that suits the space where you will hang your creation. You want these baskets to serve as ornaments to the space, and not impose on the room or corner. Pick a basket that goes with the motif of the room. Mesh baskets are more subtle when hung on the ceiling as opposed to big clay or plastic pots. You also want a basket with a sturdy chain that can carry the weight of the basket when it is done, giving allowance to weight of the water.

Step 2
Add potting mix to the basket. Most home and garden stores have soil that are specifically for smaller pots or containers. Look for one that will make your plants healthier through nutrients that will nourish the plants. You may also want a mix that retains water so your plant will continue thriving. Remember when and how much you need to water the plants as per the instruction of the potting mix.

Step 3
Add your plants. Select plants that have long, flowy stems or leaves that will hang from the sides of the basket, to create that cascading look. Since the basket will be hung, guests will only be able to see plants and flowers that flow from the basket and not those that stand upright. Also, planting them first through the sides of the basket will make your ornament look full and lush. Trim any excessive stems or dried leaves, and diversify the basket's look by adding flowers of different hues.

Step 4
Hang them in a corner. Hanging flower baskets are popular on the deck or porch, but they can also be placed indoors, preferably by a window to create an extension of the natural life outside into your home. Avoid placing them in closed corners because they will look isolated and won't get enough sunlight to keep being healthy.
