How to Make Ball and Claw Feet Coffee Table

Cut out the pieces for the coffee table. You will need a top piece with dimensions of three feet and two inches by four feet and two inches; Two side pieces with dimensions of six inches by four feet; Two end pieces with dimensions of six inches by three feet. And finally, four leg posts cut down to 24 inches.

Sand down all the pieces to remove rough edges and splinters. This will make the assembly process easier.

Create the tables frame. Attach the side boards to form a rectangle. You will want to use both wood glue and wood screws to form the frame. Next, connect the table top to the frame, using wood glue or liquid nails. Generally, you don't want to nail down the top, as it will affect the aesthetics of the piece. Make sure to center the top piece for an even one inch border over the frame. Clamp down the top and allow it to dry overnight.

Drill a pilot hole large enough to accommodate the ball and claw feet assembly. Next, attach the post legs to the table, using wood screws and wood glue.

Stain your table and allow it to dry. Next, finish your table by screwing in the ball and claw feet.
How to Create a Ball and Claw Feet End Table

Cut out the pieces for the end table. You will need a top piece with dimensions of two feet and two inches by two feet; Four side boards with dimensions of six inches by 20 inches; and Four leg posts with heights of three feet each.

Assemble the top frame for the end table. Glue, and then screw together the side pieces to form a rectangle. Use wood clamps on the joints to ensure that the pieces are tight.

Attach the top of the end table by gluing it down with a strong wood adhesive. Make sure your tap is centered over the frame. Clamp it down and let it dry overnight.

Remove the clamps from the top of the table. Screw pilot holes in the bottoms of the post legs for the ball and claw feet assemblies. Add the post legs to the table by screwing them tightly to the four corners of the frame.
