How to Replace Ink on Brother Printer
Running out of ink is bound to happen with your printer. Cartridges only have so much life in them before they run dry like your car’s gas tank. Just like filling up at a gas station, getting more ink is simple and convenient. There are no special tools needed and most stores that sell computers can help you.

1
Open the lid on your printer and find the cartridge. Certain Brother printers will have a button you can press to make the ink more accessible. The cartridge will look like a small plastic rectangle for the most part. Pull the cartridge up until it comes free from the printer. Watch your hands, because ink will stain your fingers.

2
Look at the cartridge and determine what its model number is. In order to find the proper replacement you need to know what model of cartridge you are using. Locate the Brother label and copy down whatever combination of numbers and letters you have. In addition, write down the model of Brother printer you own.

Visit your local store that sells printer goods. Most department stores and electronics stores that sell computers and printers will sell cartridges. In addition, there are some stores that sell nothing but printer ink. Tell the employees what your ink and printer model numbers are. They will supply you with a fresh ink cartridge. You can also just look for the Brother ink model number on the store shelves.

4
Insert the printer cartridge into your Brother printer, once you have removed it from the box and taken off the protective tape. The cartridge will slip back in the same way you removed it. If it does not, you may have purchased the wrong cartridge.

5
Turn your computer on and recalibrate the printer. When ink is changed, the printer needs to be reset.
