Step 1
Visit the website http://www.craigslist.org. This is a website where people from all over the world can list items for sale, trade, or even for free. There is no charge for this service, so whatever money you make from the sale of your broken laptop will be yours to keep.

Click on the state you live in, from the list on the main page. Continue by clicking on the city that is closest to your own on the next page that opens. This will open up a Craigslist page for just your chosen city.

Navigate your way to the for sale section on your city's Craigslist site, and click on the "computers" heading. Once there you should be viewing a list of other people's computer ads.

Look in the upper right hand corner of the page, and click on the post button. Doing this will open up a screen with item choices, click on the one that says "computer & tech".

Type your information about your item into the spaces provided such as a description, the price, etc., and then enter your email address at the bottom. Be sure to include contact information or ask them to reply to the craigslist email, and then click continue.

Click the continue button again when you are taken to a preview page, where you will view what your ad will look like. You may also choose edit if you notice a problem with your ad.

Scroll down to the bottom of the next page and click the button accepting the Craigslist terms of use.

Visit the email address that you placed the ad with, and open the email from Craigslist. You will need to click on the button that says publish, and your ad will be placed on their site.

Answer any emails with questions or interests in your broken Apple laptop, and choose the buyer you wish to sell to. Make arrangements for drop off/pick up of the item and payment.
